Band Profile Formed in November 2008 out of the ashes of various bands to play the kind of music we wanted to hear.
Preacher 'Stretch' Edwards (Afaktor/Abbatoir) teamed up with Lance Barrington a.k.a.'Riffmeister General' (Tilt/Abbatoir) and Rafi Utudjian (Afaktor/Three Burials) to form Valpurgis Night, a prolific gestalt outfit with an albums worth of material under our belts within months. We are heavily influenced by the nwobhm movement and were recently described by Matt [the unicorn promoter] as sounding like 'a stoner version of angelwitch' which we kinda liked !]
Lance has toured extensively with his band Tilt throughout England/Europe with albums released on Active Records "Ride The Tiger" and "Something Wicked". After Tilt he created Abbatoir, playing venues all over England . Preacher and Rafi are a good solid rhythm section having played together for many years in various bands/venues/outdoor festivals all over England and Europe.
The songs, being the strength of the band, are well crafted and played with integrity,ability and heart.
